The Planning and Development Authority operates under the oversight of a Board of Directors appointed in accordance with the Physical Planning and Development Control Act.
The Board provides strategic direction, determines planning applications, and ensures that the Authority fulfils its statutory mandate.
The Board is supported by a professional team of planners, inspectors, technical officers, and administrative staff who manage day-to-day operations.
The Chief Executive Officer oversees day-to-day operations and staff of the PDA. Administers the planning system and ensures compliance with the Act. Institutes, maintains, and reviews planning studies.
Prepares or causes preparation of national and regional development plans. May exercise disciplinary authority over staff under regulations prescribed by the Minister.
Headed by the Chief Administrative Officer. This department provides governance support to the CEO, public interface, application pre-screening, inquiry management, data entry, fast track management, review tracking, data entry, document logging, application receipt, file management, ESIA cataloguing, secure storage and retrieval.
Headed Head of Development Control. This department manages applications for development, subdivision approvals, and building permits by issuing development permits. Conducts technical reviews and coordinates referrals to partner agencies.
Headed by the Head of Compliance Department. Carries out inspections, monitors, investigates and enforces compliance with planning laws and approval conditions.
Headed by the Head of Accounts: This department manages application fees, financial reporting, budgeting, and revenue administration.
Headed by the Head of Human Resource Department. This department oversees recruitment, training, staff development, and promotes a professional, service-oriented workplace culture.
This department manages the organization’s technology infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and data security, to ensure operational efficiency.
